The University of Alaska provides the opportunity for continued health plan coverage to former employees or dependents as required by a federal law, the Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act of 1985 (COBRA).
Employees who leave the University are eligible to continue their health (medical, dental, vision and prescription) coverage through COBRA for up to 18 months.
If an employee elects to continue coverage they will be responsible for the entire premium plus an additional 2%.
