Bargaining Unit Membership

Body

The US Supreme Court decision regarding Janus v AFSCME Local Council 31 determined that it is unconstitutional to require employees who choose not to become dues-paying union members to instead pay an Agency Fee. Employees who are members of a bargaining unit are not required to either join a union or pay Agency Fees as a condition of employment. Bargaining unit member employees will still be represented by a union.

As a bargaining unit member, you have the option to voluntarily claim a deduction through payroll. If you decide later to cancel the payroll deduction you will need to submit a revocation form. If you have additional questions, please contact your union representative.
