Overview
Quick Response (QR) Codes are 2-dimensions barcode images that are useful for connecting people quickly to resources. For example, instead of having individuals copy web addresses, including a QR Code in PowerPoint presentation could provide a quick link to other resources.
To create a QR code follow the directions below. To use or scan a QR Code, you'll need a device with a camera, such as a smart phone, tablet, or computer webcam; software that reads it, and access to the Internet via a web browser.
What materials do I need?
- A valid UA identity (UA Username)
- Internet connectivity
How do I use this technology?
- In a web browser goto the UAA QRCode Generator.
- At the login screen enter your valid UA Username and password.
- In the QRCode URL field enter the desired URL.
- In the QRCode Pixel Width and Height field, enter the width/height in pixels for the QR Code.
Tip
1 inch = 96 pixels
1 cm = ~37.80 pixels
- Click Generate QR Code.
- The QR Code is generated.
- To add the generated QR Code into a document, click Click here to download.
Tip
in some browsers the click here to download link may not download the QR Code image, in which case, right-click the image and click Save Image as...
- Once downloaded, follow the directions associated with the application for inserting an image.
