Clearing your browser's cache and cookies can resolve common issues like pages failing to load correctly, outdated content appearing instead of the latest version, or being unexpectedly signed out of websites. This article walks through the steps for Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox, and Safari on Windows or macOS.

Resources
Before you begin, make sure you have the following:
- Web browser of your choice
- Computer running Windows or macOS
Procedure
Select the browser you're using below and follow the corresponding steps.
Google Chrome
- In the upper right corner of the browser, click the three-dot menu.
- Click Settings.
- In the left-hand menu, click Privacy and security.
- Click Clear browsing data.
- Set the following options:
- Time range: All time
- Uncheck Browsing history
- Check Cookies and other site data
- Check Cached images and files
- Click Clear data.
Microsoft Edge
- In the upper right corner of the browser, click the three-dot menu.
- Click Settings.
- In the left-hand menu, click Privacy, search, and services.
- Under Clear browsing data, click Choose what to clear.
- Set the following options:
- Time range: All time
- Uncheck Browsing history and Download history
- Check Cookies and other site data
- Check Cached images and files
- Click Clear now.
Mozilla Firefox
- In the upper right corner of the browser, click the three-line menu.
- Click Settings.
- In the left-hand menu, click Privacy and security.
- Under Cookies and Site Data, click Clear Data...
- Leave both Cookies and Site Data and Cached Web Content checked.
- Click Clear.
- Close the Settings page. Changes save automatically after clicking Clear.
Safari
- Click Safari in the menu at the top of the screen.
- Click Settings.
- Click the Privacy tab.
- Click Manage Website Data.
- Select the websites to clear, or click Remove All to clear all sites.
- Click Remove Now.
- Click Done to finish your changes.
- Close the page.
