Configure Digital Sign Playback

Overview

Digital Signs can be configured to playback content from categories, playlist​​​​​​s, or single specific items

In this article:

• Set Player Default Playback

What materials do I need?

• Internet connectivity
• Web browser
• Authorized access to TrilbyTV system

How do I use this technology?

1. Login to TrilbyTV.
2. Click Players.
   
3. Select the player you'd like to change the Default playback.
   Tip

   You can use the search field to filter the list.
   
4. In the top-right corner, opposite the Player's name, click List.
   

Set Player Default Playback

This is the content that will play when no schedules are active. It acts as a fallback to ensure your player always has something to display.

1. Under the Default playback header, click the edit icon.
   
2. In the Edit Default Playback dialog chose which type of element to select from.
   
   • Categories: Allows you to select one, or more, of the categories you have access to. Optionally allows you to specific the number (between 1 - 30) of most recent content to display, as well as if the order should randomized.
   • Playlist: Allows you to select a single playlist that you have access to.
   • Single: Allows you to select a single feed that you have access to.
3. Choose the item(s) you want to play.
4. Click Save.

Set Player Schedules

This allows you to create one, or more, schedules that plays categories, a playlist, or single content item for a specific time of day.

1. Under the Schedules click Add schedule.
   
2. In the Create New Schedule dialog do the following.
   
   1. Leave the Schedule on is left enabled.
   2. Optionally, set a color for the schedule.
   3. Set a Start time and End time.
   4. Set a Repeat frequency.
      Note

      The dates are displayed in a Day / Month / Year format, and times are displayed using a 24-hour clock (i.e. 1:00 p.m. = 13:00, 2:00 p.m. = 14:00)
      • None: Used for one-time content that does not need to be repeated. You will be prompted to select a date for a single day schedule.
      • Daily: Will be repeated daily, including weekends. You will be prompt to enter an optional Active from and Active to date range.
      • Advanced: Allows you to select which day(s) of the week the content is displayed, and the frequency at which it is repeated.
   5. Just like setting the Default playback above, select which categories, playlist, or singe item you'd like to display.
   6. Click Create.
3. Optionally, click Add Schedule to create as many additional schedules as you desire. This allows you to playback different content at different times.
   

Next Steps

Go visit your sign(s) and make sure the content is displaying as you intended.

Need additional help or have issues

For support, requests may be submitted anytime using the appropriate Digital Signage form. Requests generate a Ticket which will be worked in order received and urgency by IT Employees with the knowledge and permissions to assist with the request.
