Claim Your UA Username

Overview

Your University of Alaska (UA) Username is a unique username & password that allows you to access many resources within the UA system. These are assigned to every student, staff, and faculty at the University of Alaska.

What materials do I need?

• Internet access
• A web browser such as Apple’s Safari, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox, or Google Chrome

How do I use this technology?

Select one of the following methods for claiming your UA Username

• I know my UA Username/ID & Password
• I know my UA Username or UA ID #
• Search for my UA Username and ID #

I know my UA Username/ID & Password

1. Open a web browser, and go to the UAA Me site.
    
2. Select Option 1: I know my UA Username/ID # & password.
   
   
    
3. In the form that appears enter your UA Username, and Password, then click Submit.
   
   
    
4. The system will check for the existence, and health of your account.
   
   
    
5. Once completed you should see a landing page similar to the following.
   
   

I know my UA Username or UA ID #

1. Open a web browser, and go to the UAA Me site.
    
2. Select Option 2: I know my UA Username.
   
   
    
3. In the form that appears enter your UA Username, then click Submit.
   
   
    
4. The system will check for the existence of your account.
   
   
    
5. You will be prompted to answer a set of security questions to verify your identity before your password can be changed. Enter your responses, then click Confirm.

Search for my UA Username and ID #

1. Open a web browser, and go to the UAA Me site.
    
2. Select Option 3: Search for my UA Username and ID #.
   
   
    
3. In the form that appears enter your Date of Birth, Last Name, and the Last four digits of your SSN, then click Submit.
   
   
    
4. You will be prompted to answer a set of security questions to verify your identity before your password can be changed. Enter your responses, then click Confirm.

Is there any additional information I should know about?

The Me.UAA system is not used to set the PIN for UAOnline, that system is managed independently.

Please note that the verification questions used in the Me.UAA system are drawn directly from enrollment and employment records, if you believe them to be in error, please contact the appropriate department, as IT Services cannot change this information.
