Update VOIP Phone Settings Using the Cisco Self Service Portal

Overview

With Cisco Call Manager, you can phone or alter phone settings by going online and logging on to the Cisco Unified Communications Self Care Portal. From this page you can set your phone to forward calls to a different number, update speed dials, view the user guide for your phone, alter your personal address book, as wll as other options.

 

Important
Before you can login to Cisco Unified Communications Self Care Portal, your campus phone line must be configured for Softphone (Jabber) use. See Get Started with Cisco Jabber.

 

What materials do I need?

  • Compatible web browser: Chrome or Firefox.
     

How do I use this technology?

To login to Cisco Unified Communications Self Care Portal:

  1. Access the Internet
  2. Navigate to: Cisco Call Manager
    • The Cisco Unified Communications Self Care Portal page appears
  3. Enter your user UA Username and password
  4. Click login
  5. View 'User Options' with the following menu selections:
    1. Device
      Device's allows you to download a user guide info about your phone, it is also the place where you will be able to forward your calls and set speed dials for your phone.
      *When making a change, make sure you save after your change has taken place and also push the "apply config" to reset the phone for changes to take place. 
    2. User Settings
      This section will allow the user to change their password & PIN to the following items: Password is for the CM User Options page and PIN is for the users voicemail.
    3. Directory
      This is an online directory that you can search a user by different options i.e: Last Name, First Name, User ID (phone extension), Ext & LDAP Ext (phone extension)
    4. Personal Address Book
      This is option is exactly how it sounds. It's an address book that you can maintain with who you wish to keep contact with.
      *This feature is not enabled by default on phones. If this is something you wish to have, please contact UAA IT Service Center to request for it.
    5. Fast Dials
      This is your speed dial option. This is where you can setup any speed dials that you wish to use on your phone.
    6. Mobility Settings
      This holds two different options within it: Alternate Numbers & Allowed or Blocked Lists
  • Alternate Numbers: This option allows a user to have their number ring as well on a different line as well.
  • Allowed or Blocked Lists: This is a list that you can allow or not allow to come through on your alternate number.
