Get Started with Cisco Jabber

Overview

Cisco Jabber is a collaboration application that provides presence, instant messaging (IM), voice, voice messaging, and video calling capabilities. It allows you to make phone calls, using your UAA office phone number, over the Internet from any device with a speaker and microphone, including computers, and mobile devices. A softphone allows you to make telephone calls without an actual, physical telephone.

This application supports the following capabilities:

  • Integrated voice
  • High-quality video with interoperability to Cisco TelePresence and other video endpoints
  • IM, presence
  • Visual voicemail

Used for making and receiving phone calls through a computer. Your office phone number must be set up for Jabber before downloading the Jabber client.

Note
While the Cisco Jabber software is technically available for macOS, Windows, Android, and iOS/iPadOS, UAA is only currently licensed to use the software on macOS and Windows. Cisco Jabber for iOS/iPadOS and Android is currently not supported.
