Make a Phone Call Using Cisco Jabber

Overview

With your campus phone number enabled for Softphone access you are able to make phone calls using your office phone number from anywhere you have Internet connectivity.

 

Important
Before you can login to Jabber, your campus phone line must be configured for Jabber use. See Get Started with Cisco Jabber.

How do I use this technology?

 

  1. Login to Cisco Jabber (macOS / Windows).
  2. Click the telephone number pad icon.

  3. The Jabber dial pad will open.

  4. Enter the desired telephone number
    • On-campus numbers can be dialed with either the short format (e.g. 64646), or full format (e.g. 9077864646).
    • Off-campus numbers must be dialed with a leading [8] then the full phone number. Read the Off-Campus Calling article to learn about the different requirements for local, domestic long-distance, and international calls.

  5. Click the phone receiver button to place the call.

  6. The Jabber software will open a new window, and the call will be placed.

  7. When completed with the call, click the End Call button.
