Overview
This article will walk you through the steps need to successfully install the Cisco Jabber application on a computer running Windows.
Important
Before you can login to
Jabber, your campus phone line must be configured for
Jabber use. For assistance getting your campus phone number configured for
Jabber, contact the IT Services Technical Support Center via phone at
(907) 786-4646, toll-free at
(877) 633-3888, email us at
uaa.techsupport@alaska.edu, or you can use the UAA Service Portal to submit a
Request Softphone Access ticket.
How do I use this technology?
- Download the Jabber client for Windows.
- Open the UAA_Cisco_Jabber.msi file.
- If prompted Do you want to allow this app from an unknown publisher to make changes to your device, click Yes.
- You may see this prompt more than once.
Next Steps
You can send, and receive telephone calls to your university assigned phone number. You can also check your voice mail.
Need additional help or have issues
For support, requests may be submitted anytime by Requesting Support for the Request Softphone Access service. Support Requests are worked by Priority based on the Impact and Urgency of need as well as the order they are received by the IT Employees with the knowledge and permissions to assist with the request.
