Off-Campus Calling

Overview

On and after 24 October 2021, all off-campus and between-campus calls will require the use of 10-digit dialing. On-campus calls will continue to function with 5-digit dialing. This change is due to a national change that the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has communicated around the implementation of the National Suicide Prevention Hotline which will be accessed by dialing 988 from any phone.

Important
10-digit dialing is available now and will be required starting 24 October 2021 for all off-campus local calls. Read the State of Alaska announcement to learn more.
