Do you provide Autodesk software for free?

No, UAA IT Services does not offer or manage Autodesk software licenses. Autodesk offers students and educators access to the same design software used by the world's leading professionals to help build the skills and knowledge for successful careers. Review Autodesk's Education plan.

 

I am a UAA student. How can I access the Autodesk software for free?

Please refer to Autodesk's Student’s guide to the Education Plan. If you require further assistance obtaining an educational license, you must contact Autodesk Support directly, as we do not provide support for Autodesk licensing or software.

 

I cannot run Autodesk software on my computer. Is there another way to access them for free?

We have worked with the UAA College of Engineering (CoEng) department on setting up virtual computers that currently contain AutoCAD, Civil3D and Revit, available for free for active CoEng students. To learn more, please visit the following Knowledge articles:

Additionally, the UAA CoEng has an open-computer lab with MATLAB pre-installed on the computers.

 

I am a UAA employee. How can I access the Autodesk software for free?

According to Autodesk's page, educators are eligible for a free educational license depending on the use case. Please review Autodesk's Terms of Service to determine if you are an educator, and permitted use cases.

Please refer to Autodesk's Educator’s guide to the Education Plan. If you require further assistance obtaining an educational license, you must contact Autodesk Support directly, as we do not provide support for Autodesk licensing or software.

Otherwise, if you are not an educator (as defined by Autodesk) and do not satisfy the permitted use cases, you must coordinate with your departmental admin and submit a Software Request ticket.

 

Need additional help or have issues

For questions or issues using Autodesk software, you must contact Autodesk Support directly.

For UAA employees installing Autodesk software on a UAA computer, requests may be submitted anytime using the appropriate Install Software form. Requests generate a Ticket, which will be worked on in order of received and urgency by UAA Employees with the knowledge and permissions to assist with the request.

For UAA employees needing assistance purchasing an Autodesk software license, please review your software request ticket and submit a notified comment to the department responsible for processing it.
