Backup a Project's Briefcase

Information on how to backup a project's briefcase within the Enterprise Service Management system.

Overview

Backing up files is done to protect files from human errors, saving them for archival purposes, or to be prepared in case of a system crash.

ESM Enterprise Administrators may backup any project's briefcase to a .zip file and download that file to their computer.

What materials do I need?

  • Internet connectivity
  • Web browser
  • ESM Project Application Administrator, or ESM Enterprise Administrator role

How do I use this technology?

To back up a project briefcase:

  1. In TDWorkManagement, click View Applications.
  2. Click the name of the desired project application.
  3. In the project application, click the settings (i.e. sprocket icon) button.
  4. Click Admin.
  5. In the left navigation menu, click Projects.
  6. Click the name of the desired project in the project list.
  7. In the Project Detail window, click the Briefcase Backup button.
  8. In the Project Briefcase Backup Utility window, follow the steps to PrepareZip and Download the briefcase files.
  9. In the Save As window, give the file a meaningful name and save it to the desired location on your computer.

Gotchas & Pitfalls

  • Remember this process can be lengthy based on how many files are in a project’s briefcase. Keep the page open while the system processes the backup request and prepares files for zipping and downloading.

Need additional help or have issues

For support, requests may be submitted anytime using the appropriate Enterprise Service Management form. Requests generate a Ticket which will be worked in order received and urgency by IT Employees with the knowledge and permissions to assist with the request.
