Overview

This article will guide you through connecting your device to our UAA-GUEST-WIFI.

Important
Active UA students and employees should not be using UAA-GUEST-WIFI. Please connect to UAA WiFi - Anchorage instead.

What materials do I need?

  • Wi-Fi-capable device such as an iPhone, Android phone, Windows laptop, macOS laptop, etc.

How do I use this technology?

  1. Navigate to your device's WiFi Settings.
  2. Connect to UAA-GUEST-WIFI.
  3. Your device will prompt you to our Usage Policy page.
  4. Click the terms and conditions link.

  5. Read our Wi-Fi terms and conditions.

  6. Click the orange Close button on the bottom-right to return to the Usage Policy page.
  7. Checkmark the I accept the terms and conditions checkbox.
    1. If you do not accept our Wi-Fi terms and conditions, then you are not permitted to connect and utilize our Wi-Fi.

  8. The prompt should now close and connect you to our Wi-Fi.
  9. You may be redirected to our main website upon checking that box. You can close this page.

  10. To test if you're connected, open any web page, such as our main UAA website or google.com.

Troubleshooting

If you are unable to connect, follow the troubleshooting steps below:

  1. Ensure you read and accepted our terms and conditions, then go back to step 1.
  2. All requirements met in the What materials do I need? section.
  3. Reboot your device, then go back to step 1.
  4. Forget the UAA-WiFi -GUEST SSID in your device's Wi-Fi settings, then go back to step 1.
  5. Check our UAA ITS Status Page for possible network outages.

Terms and Conditions

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of the password and all activities that occur under your username and password. UAA offers the Service for activities such as the active use of e-mail, instant messaging, browsing the World Wide Web and accessing corporate intranets. High volume data transfers, especially sustained high volume data transfers, are not permitted. Hosting a web server or any other server by use of our Service is prohibited. Trying to access someone else's account, sending unsolicited bulk e-mail, collection of other people's personal data without their knowledge and interference with other network users are all prohibited. UAA reserves the right to suspend the Service if UAA reasonably believes that your use of the Service is unreasonably excessive or you are using the Service for criminal or illegal activities. You do not have the right to resell this Service to a third party. UAA reserves the right to revise, amend or modify these Terms & Conditions, our other policies and agreements, and aspects of the Service itself. Notice of any revision, amendment, or modification will be posted on UAA website and will be effective as to existing users 30 days after posting.

How fast is UAA-GUEST-WIFI?

The UAA-GUEST-WIFI network is rate-limited to 30 Megabits per second (Mbps), upload and download. However, not all devices can achieve these speeds due to variations in hardware capabilities.
