The FTE value goes up each semester taught, starting at 0.000 for the first semester. Look at the FTE field on their last adjunct assignment, and if it is from a prior semester, add 0.001 to the FTE field.
That value determines what step the adjunct should be paid at using the following values:
- 0.000-0.004 = Step 1
- 0.005-0.010 = Step 2
- 0.011 and greater = Step 3
- FT Adjuncts paying off scale: Use Step 0 for Grade 00_CV
- FW Adjuncts: Use 00_NC or 00_HR (hourly), Step 0
Union represented adjuncts (FT) must be paid according to the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA). If you pay an adjunct below the appropriate step, you will need to provide justification, such as "low enrollment" on the job form. If there is no justification, the HR Technician will bring the adjunct up to the correct step in compliance with the CBA.
