When doing a New Hire or Rehire for a UAF Grad Student using the UAF Grad School NextGen form, there are a few steps that differ from extending current Grad Student Assignments.
There is a field in the form that asks the employee status of the student. The choices are "New Hire, Rehire and Current Employee". When you choose "New Hire" or Rehire" you'll be asked to take a few additional steps:
- There is a field that is displayed for you to paste the URL to the myUA recruitment for the position. In turn, this URL is displayed for the student to refer to when they receive the appointment letter in NextGen.
- The NextGen Grad Student form creates the appointment letter and job form. Once the Dean/Director and the employee have signed download the PDF of the appointment letter and job form and attach it to the rest of the hire documents that you send to HR Personnel through the normal Hire/Rehire NextGen envelope.
- You will need to follow the normal recruitment processes through myUA for the Grad Student assignment. This will include opening a recruitment, initiating the background check, and completing the offer card.
