How do I set up a new Faculty member working in the summer?

Faculty Summer Assignment

If you are hiring a faculty member for the new academic year and they need to start working before their contract in order to set up classes or begin research, set them up with a Summer Additional Assignment. Do not set them up with an adjunct assignment.

If their academic year assignment has not been set up in NBAJOBS yet, please note on the job form that their academic year contract is coming.

What will Personnel Need?

To set up the Summer Additional Assignment, please send the following items to HR:

  • Job Form and Appointment Letter
  • New Hire Packet, if appropriate based upon their status

If their primary, academic year contract is not in Banner yet, please also include: 

  • Note on the job form that the contract and job form are in progress
  • Copy of current offer card for the primary, faculty assignment
