Set Up GlobalConnect VPN (UAF/SW)

Install The GlobalProtect VPN Client

1. With a web browser, visit: http://vpn.alaska.edu/
2. Enter your UA credentials
3. Select the most appropriate version for your operating system. For Windows, the 64bit version is the most common.
4. The installation process is fairly straight forward and default settings are fine.
5. If you are prompted for a "Portal Address" use: vpn.alaska.edu

• GlobalProtect is OIT's "next generation" VPN client offering for remote UAF connectivity. If you currently use VPN, it is expected to replace Cisco AnyConnect.
• Once you are operational with the new VPN, you can safely remove the Cisco AnyConnect client and use GlobalProtect as your primary VPN.
• Additional information about the GlobalProtect VPN client can be found here. Additionally, some Mac users need to make a minor configuration change, which is further detailed in the link below.
