Updating your UA username may cause temporary issues accessing your account. We cannot expedite or intervene in this system-automated process.
Therefore, you should make the request either:
- Before or after the semester (recommended)
- Or on a Friday if you don't plan on using your account over the weekend
You may continue using your existing/old UA username to log in until it has been updated. After some time, your newly generated username and existing password should work.
- Ensure you have submitted a name change form to the local Registrar’s Office (for students) or UA Human Resources (for employees).
- Ensure the Registrar’s Office/UA HR has fully processed your name change on record.
- After confirming Steps 1 and 2, read the red Warning box.

Is there any additional information I should know about?
After your UA username has been updated, some applications may require you to sign in again with your new UA username, such as Microsoft 365 apps, Google Workspace for Education apps, etc.
