What is this article about?
If you've created a survey, quiz, or poll, you can easily move it to a group so everyone in your group becomes owners of that form.
Note: You can only move a form if you're the owner of that form. You may not transfer ownership of a form that is shared with you.
How do I use this technology?
- In your web browser, login to Office 365 (see Getting started with Micrsoft Forms)
- From the App launcher, click Forms.
- On the My forms tab, find the form you want to transfer.
- Click the More form actions (...) button
- Click Move.
- Select the group you want to transfer your form to.
Notes:
- You must be a member of the group you want to transfer ownership of the form to.
- If you are not a member of any Office 365 group, you will be unable to transfer ownership of the form. For a primer on Office 365 groups, see the KB article What is Microsoft Teams and How do I use it?
- Click the Move button.
- The from you moved will appear in the Group forms tab.
What happens to the Excel workbook of my newly transferred form?
Your transferred from will inherit all features of a group form, such as its responses stored on the group SharePoint Online page. A new Excel workbook will be created in the Documents folder of the SharePoint Online page with the same name as the Form title which will include all previously captured responses. Any new responses will be synced to this Excel workbook.
Important: Do not move the Excel workbook to another location. New responses coming in will not sync with an Excel workbook that has been moved.
Will the original respondent link to the form, created when it was owned by an individual, still work after the form has been transferred to a group?
Yes, the respondent link created with the original forn will still work after the form has been moved to a group. The response of a submitter who uses an old link will be caputred in the Excel workbook stored on the group SharePoint Online page.
Is it possilbe to transfer a form if the form's owner is no longer with the university?
