Overview
This article will walk you through the process of using the Adobe Creative Cloud (CC) software installed on a university-owned computer configured to use a shared device license, instead of the standard user-based license. Individuals must still login to the Adobe CC software using your UA identity in order to use the software.
Note
Shared device licenses are available only for lab, classroom, or other shared UA computer environments.
Tip
Individuals that have been assigned an individual Adobe CC, and accessing the software from their primary university-owned computer should follow the directions described in the
Access Adobe Applications With a UA Account article.
What materials do I need?
- University-owned computer
- Adobe CC shared device license installed/applied
How do I use this technology?
- Login to the university computer with your UA identity (e.g. uaa_training).
- Open the Adobe Creative Cloud application.
- macOS: Open the Applications folder, double-click on Adobe Creative Cloud.
- Windows: Click Start, in the search field, type Adobe Creative Cloud, click on app icon.

- The Creative Cloud Desktop application will open, click More sign-in options.

- Click the Continue with Microsoft button.

- If prompted, approve your Duo prompt. For example.

- Your web browser should open and connect to an adobe.com website with a notice that This is a Shared Device. If this is the first time you've used Adobe CC you'll be prompted to complete your account by entering month and year of your birth date. After which click Create account.

- The browser will refresh displaying a You're all set! message.

- The Creative Cloud Desktop application will now sign you into your Creative Cloud account.

- After the signin is complete a Welcome to Adobe Creative Cloud dialog will be displayed. Click Done.

You should now be able to access the Adobe Creative Cloud application(s) installed on the device.
Next Steps
After you've signed into the Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop, you can open and use other installed Adobe applications (e.g. Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.).
If the Adobe application you're looking for is not installed on the computer, try the following steps.
- Open the Creative Cloud Desktop application.
- On the left side, click Apps.
- A list of software, and other resources, available under the device's license will be displayed.
- Locate the desired software, if available, and click Install.
- If prompted by an Admin by Request prompt, in the Your phone field, enter your UA office phone number, in the Reason field enter the name of the application you're installing and click Ok.
- If prompted, approve your Duo prompt.
- Wait while the software to be downloaded and installed.
Need additional help or have issues
For support, requests may be submitted anytime using the appropriate University Computer form. Requests generate a Ticket which will be worked in order received and urgency by IT Employees with the knowledge and permissions to assist with the request.
