Server Administration

Server administration Windows and Linux server administration of department owned and UAA IT maintained servers, as well as backup and maintenance of department owned servers. The service includes installation of operating systems, server configurations, installation of OS patches, network/firewall provisioning, and installation of applications as necessary.

Requirements

• Windows and Linux server administration and hosting customers must provide fund and org number and server hardware as appropriate. For Linux, virtual machine (VM) setup is also an option.
• Use must be in compliance with the University of Alaska: Acceptable Use of Online Resources and the University of Alaska Board of Regents Policy of Information Resources.

Availability

24 hours a day 7 days a week exclusions are,

• During scheduled updated or upgrades that require the system to be unavailable. You can see service availability on the UAA Service Status page.
• Server administration requests for service are processed weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Supported By

This service is maintained and supported by UAA IT Services. Requests for support may be submitted anytime via the Request Support button on the right side of this page. Requests generate a Ticket which will be worked in order received and urgency by the IT Employees with the knowledge and permissions to assist with the request.
