Overview
The University of Alaska (UA), University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA), University of Alaska Fairbanks (UAF), and University of Alaska Southeast (UAS) licenses and supports software products for UA students, faculty, and staff. Access to some software may be restricted to specific eligible groups.
Important
Software that have been previously reviewed and not approved can be found on the
Unauthorized Software list.
Attention
Currently all software requests must be reviewed annually. However, we are working to eliminate this requirement in an upcoming version.
Software for UA-owned vs Personally-Owned Devices
Software for UA-owned devices is usually available through the UA Software Center (macOS, Windows). Contact your campus IT support team, for assistance with downloads on your UA-owned computer. Some software on this list may be available for use on personally-owned devices. Applicable information is provided on how to download/install the software for use on your device.

Other Software
I'm interested in software, but I do not see it in the Software Catalog. What should I do?
Students
Students may access academic versions of some products [where/how], or via the developer's/publisher's website. Students may also check with their academic department to see if they have additional software available.
Faculty, Staff, and Departments
Please check with your academic or administrative department to determine if there is additional software available to you. Any software not listed in the Software Catalog or not available to you otherwise must be purchased in accordance with University of Alaska Purchasing Guidelines.
Campus-wide or Volume Licensing Agreements
Departments interested in new campus-wide, or larger, volume licensing agreements should contact IT to express interest. IT will work with the university community to evaluate and pursue these agreements.
Need additional help or have issues
For support, requests may be submitted anytime using the appropriate Software Request form. Requests generate a Ticket which will be worked in order received and urgency by IT Employees with the knowledge and permissions to assist with the request.
