Overview
This article shows you how to check how much storage you're using in your UA Google Drive (Google Workspace) and Microsoft OneDrive (Microsoft 365) accounts. UA has established storage limits for these services, and it's a good idea to check your usage periodically.
Check Your Google Drive (Google Workspace) Storage Usage
- Go to drive.google.com and sign in with your UA account.
- Click the gear icon (Settings) in the top right, then select Settings.
- Select Storage from the left menu. Your total storage used and remaining quota will display at the top.
Alternatively, you can go directly to drive.google.com/drive/u/0/quota to see a breakdown by Drive, Gmail, and Photos.
Check Your OneDrive (Microsoft 365) Storage Usage
- Go to univalaska-my.sharepoint.com and sign in with your UA account.
- Look at the bottom-left of the page for your storage usage (shown as a number, e.g. "12.3 GB used").
- Click that usage number to open the Largest files view, which shows your total usage and the files consuming the most space.
Note: If a file has multiple saved versions, each version counts toward your storage total. A single large file with many versions can use more space than expected — see the Largest Files view to investigate.
Expected Result
You should see your total usage (e.g., "12.3 GB of 15 GB used") for each service. If you're at or near your limit, review large or unnecessary files for deletion, or move personal files to personal (non-UA) storage.
