Overview
The following is the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for assigning SolidWorks license to College of Engineering students.
Important
SolidWorks licensing is only available for College of Engineering (CoEng) students. Prior to providing license information, confirm the student is enrolled in a CoEng course.
Warning
There are 60 licenses available. If the student receives an error regarding licensing, please reach out to Kim Riggs at
kariggs@alaska.edu.

Procedure
Students can download and install the Student Design Kit (SDK) on their personal computers using these instructions:
- Backup SolidWorks data from any previous versions.
- Uninstall any previous versions of SolidWorks.
- Navigate to https://www.solidworks.com/SEK
- Complete the form with your relevant information.
- Where necessary, use SEK-ID = XSEK12
- Under “Product Information,” select Yes for “I already have a Serial Number that starts with 9020”
- Under "SOLIDWORKS Version," select 2023 for the most recent version
- Download and run the setup file
- Enter the Serial Number: 90200057789268722RFX9J46
- Follow the remaining instructions and accept the defaults.

Also a reminder that SolidWorks is available on the UAA Virtual Desktop Computer Labs (VDI) if students are not able to install it on their computer. Learn how to access and use the VDI.
