Overview
continuingstudies.alaska.edu (aka Genius) is UAA's online continuing‑education portal that centralizes noncredit courses, CEUs, workforce training, and personal‑enrichment offerings across UAA’s colleges and partner campuses. It offers professional development (health, behavioral health, technical careers, leadership), personal enrichment (arts, fitness, languages), youth and college‑access programs, and acts as a registration hub for statewide training resources.

What materials do I need?
- Internet access
- Web browser (i.e. Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, Apple Safari, etc)
- Desktop or laptop computer
- A personal non-UA email address (must not end with @alaska.edu) linked with your Genius account
How do I use this technology?
Log in to Continuing Studies
- On a desktop or laptop computer with an internet connection, open your preferred web browser.
- Go to the website address, continuingstudies.alaska.edu

- DO NOT CLICK the green Sign in with UA account button. Just below that button, in the Email field, type in your email address that is linked with your Genius account.

- In the Password field, type in your Genius account password.
- If you forgot or need to change your password, please go to the Forgot Password section.

- Click the green Sign- in button.

- If successful, you should see your Dashboard, similar to the picture below.
- If you do not see your Dashboard or encounter a login error message, please go to the Troubleshooting section.

Forgot Password
If you forgot or need to change your password:
- On a desktop or laptop computer with an internet connection, open your preferred web browser.
- Go to the website address, continuingstudies.alaska.edu/forgot.aspx

- Leave the Username field blank and empty.
- Type in your email address that is linked with your Genius account in the Email field.

- Click the green Request Password button.

- Check your email for a Password Reset email from UAContinuingEducation@geniussis.com.

- In the middle of the email, look for Password Reset In order to reset your password, please go to this page, click the link.

- In the Reset your Password page, type in your new password in the New Password and Confirm Password Fields. Your password needs to be at least 8 characters long with an upper case, lower case, number, and special character like
!@#$%^&*()_+`~
- Click the green Submit button once you are done.

- After you change your password, you will get a success message. Click on the yellow here link and it will take you to the Dashboard.

- If it takes you to change your password again, scroll all the way down and click the blue Save button. Then, the Dashboard will become available for you to click on the top-left corner.

Troubleshooting
Sign in Blocked Error Message
If you get the The user has been blocked for reaching the maximum of 5 invalid login attempts error message, you need to change your password. Please follow the Forgot Password section. If your account is still blocked after changing your password, please see the Need additional help or have issues section for log in support.
An Account Already Exists Error Message
If you are creating a Genius account and get the There is already a learner with this email address error message, then a Genius account already exists with that email address. Please follow the Log in to Continuing Studies section to sign in to that account.

Need additional help or have issues
If you encounter issues with course registration or billing after logging in, please contact the Instructor, the Program Coordinator, or the individual who referred you to the course for assistance.
For log in support, requests may be submitted anytime by emailing the UAA Technical Support Center, uaa.techsupport@alaska.edu. Requests generate a Ticket which will be worked in order received and urgency by UAA Employees with the knowledge and permissions to assist with the request.
