Overview
This article is specific to the surveillance camera system in use at the Mat-Su College campus.
Note
Only users that have already been granted access to the Mat-Su College surveillance camera system will be able to follow this article. If you need access, ask your supervisor to submit a
Add User to Security Camera Group request.
Important
Access to the Mat-Su College surveillance camera system is only available to authorized users while on the Mat-Su College campus network. Remote or off-site access is unavailable.
What materials do I need?
- A Windows or Mac computer on the Mat-Su College campus network.
How do I use this technology?
- Open Software Center.
- Search for Synology.
- Click on Synology Surveillance Station.
- Click on Install.
- Close Software Center after install completes.
- Click on the Start Menu.
- Just start typing Synology to search for the recently installed program. The Start Menu will automatically change to a search menu.
- Click on the search result Synology Surveillance Station Client.
- In the top field, type cameras.matsu.alaska.edu
- In the middle field, type your UA username
- In the bottom field, type your UA password
- Select the HTTPS checkbox and click on Sign In
- Click on Proceed anyway when the SSL Certificate notice appears
- Here is a rundown of the various options you will see once signed in:
- Live View is to view the all the cameras you have access to in real time.
- Recording is to view past events (dependant on your level of access).
- The person icon in the upper right is to Logout.
- The Main Menu icon in the upper left will show you other options, such as E-Map, which is the location of cameras as shown over a building map.
You can click on a camera in the E-Map to open its Live View (dependant on your level of access).
