Google Drive Limits

Overview

Google Drive allows individuals to upload any type of file, and convert certain types of files to Google document formats such as Google Docs, Sheets, or Slides. However, there are certain limitations imposed by Google Drive.

 

Storage and Limits
Element Limit
Google Drive Space Unlimited storage
Google Doc (individual file) Up to 1.02 million characters. If you convert a text document to Google Doc format, it can be up to 50 MB.
Google Sheets (individual file) Up to 2 million cells for spreadsheets that are created in, or convert to, Google Sheets.
Google Slides (individual file) Up to 100 MB.
All other files Up to 5 TB per file.
Transfer limit 750 GB per rolling 24-hours. Individuals can only upload 750 GB each day (rolling 24-hours) between their devices and Google Drive, and all shared drives they have access to. Individuals who reach the 750 GB limit, or upload files larger than 750 GB cannot upload additional files that day. Uploads in progress will complete
