In this article:
What materials do I need?
- Active in the University of Alaska (UA) System
- Students who have registered for at least 1 credit through UAOnline within the past year,
- Employees with an active job status, or
- Active department-sponsored UA account
- UA username and current UA password.
- If you forgot your UA username or password, please visit the me.uaa.alaska.edu account recovery website.
- iOS device (i.e., iPhone X, iPhone 15 Pro Max, etc.) or iPadOS device (i.e., iPad Pro, iPad Air, etc.)
How do I use this technology?
Connect to UAA WiFi -MatSu
- On the iOS/iPadOS device Home screen, tap Settings.
- Tap Wi-Fi.

- Tap UAA WiFi -MatSu.
Warning
The "MSC - Guest" WiFi network is intended for visitors and should not be used by UAA students, faculty, or staff.
This network is slower, has limited access, and requires daily re-authentication, which can interrupt your connection.
For the best experience, including faster speeds and persistent connectivity without daily logins, always connect to "UAA WiFi - MatSu" using your UA credentials.
- You will then be asked for your credentials. Type in your UA credentials (do not include @alaska.edu, and do not use your student ID number).

- Tap Join on the top-right once you are finished.

- You may be prompted to accept a network security certificate. Tap Trust on the top-right of the screen.

- You should now be connected to UAA WiFi -MatSu.

- To test if you're connected, open any web page, such as Mat-Su College or Google.
Troubleshooting
If you are unable to connect, follow the troubleshooting steps below:
- Ensure you entered your UA username (do not include @alaska.edu, and do not use your student ID number).
- Ensure you entered your current UA password correctly.
- All requirements met in the What materials do I need? section.
- Reboot your device, then go back to step 1.
- Forget the MSC - Guest SSID.
- Forget the UAA WiFi -MatSu SSID, then go back to step 1.
- Reset your Network Settings, then go back to step 1.
