How Do I Use This Technology?
- On the desktop, click the “Restart Meeting Owl” icon.

A browser window will open to owl.matsu.alaska.edu, displaying control options specific to the classroom’s equipment.

The following buttons may appear, depending on the room:
- Restart Meeting Owl
- Removes power from the Meeting Owl and then restores it.
- The Owl takes up to 60 seconds to reboot and will hoot when it is ready.
- During this reboot, remote students cannot see or hear the classroom, so please give them a brief heads‑up before restarting.
- Restart Whiteboard Owl
- Removes and reapplies power to the Whiteboard Owl.
- Takes up to 60 seconds to reboot and re‑pair with the Meeting Owl.
- The Whiteboard Owl’s white status light indicates its activity. A solid white light means it has successfully re‑paired and is ready to use.
- Restarting the Whiteboard Owl does not interrupt an active meeting and is safe to do during lecture.
- Restart Projector Connection
- Power cycles the HDMI transmit unit inside the podium.
- The unit typically reboots within 10 seconds.
- A green light indicates a good signal flow; orange indicates no signal established.
