Search the Service Portal

Overview

The University of Alaska (UA) Enterprise Service Management (ESM) system supports multiple Major Administrative Units (MAU) (e.g. UAA, System Office) across the UA system. Each of these MAU's have a Service Portal that supports services and departments affiliated with that MAU. The MAU Service Portal provides a number of ways to find services, information, and assistance. The instructions below will help you navigate the services available to you. If you're unable to locate the desired service, or knowledge article, you can easily Switch Between Service Portals.

How do I use this technology?

From the Home Page

The home page of the ESM Service Portal provides a search bar allowing you to quickly locate self-help documentation, or services to submit a ticket requesting assistance.

You can also click the Services button on the top navigation bar to go directly to the Service Catalog where you can browse for information, or assistance on a wide range of available services. Additionally, you can click the Knowledge Base button to access a wide range of informative, and self-help documentation.

Searching Using the Search Bar or Globe Icon

  1. Access the Client Portal at https://service.alaska.edu/TDClient.
  2. When prompted, login with your UA identity.
  3. In the top-right corner, click the Filter your search by categories button to the left of the Search the client portal text field.

  4. From the options, click either the Knowledge Base, or Service Catalog to target your search in the desired area.

  5. Enter your search terms in the Search the client portal text field,
  6. and press Enter or click the Search button.
  7. Scroll through the results to find the service, or knowledge article you are interested in, or use the search bar at the top of the page to search again.

Searching with Tags

The search boxes allow you to search for entries by tag. The typeahead suggestions will appear by typing “#” and beginning to type a keyword. The search will perform a tag search and a regular key word search at the same time.

When viewing an entry, you can click any of its tags to see all other entries of the same type which use that tag.

Services

Searching by Category

  1. Access the Client Portal at https://service.alaska.edu/TDClient.
  2. When prompted, login with your UA identity.
  3. On the Client Portal home page click Services.
  4. On the navigation sub-menu click Search.
  5. The Search page will appear, enter the desired term(s) in the search field, and optionally use the Category field to select a specific category to narrow the focus of the search.
  6. Click Search.
  7. Look through the search results for the service you're looking for.

Knowledge Base

Searching by Category

  1. Access the Client Portal at https://service.alaska.edu/TDClient.
  2. When prompted, login with your UA identity.
  3. On the Client Portal home page click Knowledge Base.
  4. On the navigation sub-menu click Search.
  5. The Search page will appear, enter the desired term(s) in the search field, and optionally use the Category field to select a specific category to narrow the focus of the search.
  6. Click Search.
  7. Look through the search results for the knowledge articles you're looking for.

Need additional help or have issues

For support, requests may be submitted anytime using the appropriate Service form. Requests generate a Ticket which will be worked in order received and urgency by UAA Employees with the knowledge and permissions to assist with the request.
