Digital Signage

Digital signage makes use of digital displays and are a way for university departments to provide helpful information such as upcoming events, UAA news, building maps, department hours and directories, campus maps, activities happening around campus, and other UAA content. Some signs are touch screens and provide an interactive experience for the customer. Most signs play a looping slideshow, where the content, changes every 6 - 10 seconds.

Requirements

Departments requesting this service must be in compliance with the following:

• University of Alaska: Acceptable Use of Online Resources
• University of Alaska Board of Regents Policy of Information Resources for FERPA compliance
• Along with any pertinent IT Security Policies

Cost

This service has an initial cost for hardware & Installation. To obtain an estimate please submit a request for a new sign, no purchases will be made without approval from the department. Installation may include running cabling, power, or asbestos mitigation.

Support which requires UAA IT Fields Services to go to the sign will be charged to the department that owns the sign. Approval from the department if the request is not submitted by them will be obtained first.

Availability

Available 24 hours a day 7 days a week except during scheduled maintenance.

Supported By

This service is maintained and supported by UAA IT Services. Requests for support may be submitted anytime via the Request Support button on the right side of this page. Requests generate a Ticket which will be worked in order received and urgency by the IT Employees with the knowledge and permissions to assist with the request.
