The University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA) operates several data centers in order to provide the community a reliable and secure space to house their IT assets. UAA departments can request having a rack-mountable server placed in an UAA IT Data Center. Benefits of, alternatives, and fees for this service are detailed below. Colocation is especially appropriate for high-reliability mission-critical servers, large computational systems, or dedicated systems with special needs that cannot be accommodated by a virtual server. The integrity of the space and service is maintained through internal controls and processes, and physical access is restricted to authorized individuals.

Requirements
Important Notes
- All racking and unracking is performed by UAA IT Data Center administrators.
- UAA IT reserves the right to specify rack locations.
- UAA IT does not guarantee that any future expansions will be adjacent to existing equipment. Space in the Data Center cannot be reserved.
- The customer is responsible for data removal/sanitizing of device and proper disposal at the time of decommission.

Availability
New rack hosting requests are processed weekdays from 8am to 5pm. The Data center is up and running 24 hours per day 365 days per year, except during scheduled maintenance or unplanned outages. Maintenance for Colocated Servers will be coordinated with server administrators.

This service is maintained and supported by UAA IT Services. Requests for support may be submitted anytime via the Request Support button on the right side of this page. Requests generate a Ticket which will be worked in order received and urgency by the IT Employees with the knowledge and permissions to assist with the request.
