Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a major disruptive technological advance that has the potential to revolutionize higher education, as well as society at large. The University of Alaska Office of Information Technology is committed to assisting students, faculty, and staff to position UA as a leading innovator in the use of these emerging technologies within the education and research environments.

UA has developed a variety of resources to assist the university community to effectively adopt these tools while ensuring their safe, equitable, and ethical use.

Get Started

Copilot Pro and Gemini Premium are available to purchase for university staff by submitting a request to your local Service Desk using the "Create Support Request" button (upper right corner of page).

Note: The base versions of Microsoft Copilot and Google Gemini are available to UA students, faculty and staff by logging into your university account.

What's Required

Use must be in compliance with the University of Alaska Board of Regents Policy on Information Resources and the University of Alaska Generative AI Security Standards.

After logging in with your university credentials, your data is protected by Google and Microsoft's Data Protection Assurance.

Cost

The base versions Google Gemini and Microsoft Copilot are free for all students, staff, and faculty, and by logging in with your university credentials, your data is protected by Google and Microsoft's Data Protection Assurance.

Copilot Pro and Gemini Premium are available to purchase for university staff. Licenses renew on June 1st. Licenses purchased after June are prorated, based on purchase date.
