Request for a Blackboard Course Development Shell

Overview

Development course shells refer to a course on the Blackboard system that is not a formal UAOnline course. They are functionally identical to a formal course. Development courses are generally set up for faculty and staff who would like to develop a new course, practice using Blackboard, or participate in departmental/committee groups,

How do I use this technology?

A Blackboard course shell may be requested by faculty and staff using the Blackboard Course Shell Request.

  1. Select Request Support
  2. Fill in the Information required under Contact Information
  3. Under Request Details, in the Title to Identify this Request by, put "Request to have a new Dev shell created"
  4. In Support Type, select New Development Course Shell
  5. In Additional Info, put your reason for wanting a new Dev shell created
    1. If you have a preference for what the course is named, put Course Name: and the desired name for the course (Ex: Course Name: UAA Testing Course)
    2. If you are using the Dev shell to copy over Course Content from a Banner-created course, please provide the CRN or Course ID of that course
  6. Add any documents that you believe may need to be added for this request
  7. Click Request Support
