Overview
PrinterLogic is the system the university uses to connect your computer to campus printers. Instead of hunting for printer names or IP addresses, you pick a printer from a map or list and PrinterLogic installs it, driver and all, in a few seconds.
PrinterLogic is made by Vasion, so you may also see it called Vasion Print. It has three parts you will run into:
| Part |
What it is |
Where you see it |
| PrinterLogic client |
A small app that runs in the background and installs printers for you |
Printer icon in the Mac menu bar or Windows system tray |
| Self-service Portal |
A web page listing every printer you can use, often on a building floor map |
Opens when you click the client icon and choose Add Printer |
| Browser extension |
Lets the Self-service Portal talk to the client from your web browser |
Your browser's extensions list (Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari) |
Next Steps
The following articles will walk you through the process of installing the Printerlogic / Vasion Print client, if necessary, and using the software to locate and install desired printers on your university owned computer.
