Add a Slideshow

Overview

Digital signs offers the ability to create simple slideshows from photos, presentations, and other supported document types. Each slideshow can contain up to 36 images and will display them in the order you specify.

How do I use this technology?

Create Slideshow

  1. Login to TrilbyTV.
  2. Click the Add content ('+' icon) in the menu bar.

  3. Click Slideshow.

  4. Enter a Title for the slideshow.

  5. In the Content area to add your images or files by drag-and-drop, or by clicking Browse to open a system dialog window to locate the desired content.

    • If you're on an iPad, select images from the Camera Roll, or browse to locate files from iCloud Drive or other apps.
    • If you're in a web browser, you can select from anywhere on your computer.
  6. Once the images have been added, drag and drop the files to place them in the desired order.

  7. With Auto fill screen enabled, the images will be zoomed to avoid any borders. This can be turned off if desired. If disabled, the Background color will be shown if the images are not in widescreen (16:9) format.
    • You can also click the Edit icon below each image to zoom-in, or re-frame the image.

  8. Click Save to start uploading the images.

  9. After the files have been successfully uploaded you will see a screen similar to the following.

  10. Click the View button to see a preview of the newly created slideshow.

  11. Proceed to the Edit Slideshow Settings section below to make further adjustments.

 

Important
When file(s) are converted, any non-standard fonts or emojis used may cause text to wrap or appear differently, so be sure to check the slides before they are Approved.

 

Edit Slideshow Settings

Each slideshow can be further customized

  1. In the Description field enter a brief summary of the slideshow.

  2. In the Categories section click one, or more, applicable categories (read the Digital Signage Categories KB article for additional information).
  3. In the Groups selection click one, or more applicable groups (read the Digital Signage Groups KB article for additional information).

  4. Optionally, you can adjust the duration each image is displayed for by changing the value under Show each slide for field (a short fade in/out is added between images).

  5. Optionally, you can set a date range in which the slideshow is available for display.

    Tip
    The date picker option displays the date in "Day/Month/Year" (e.g. 21/11/2022) format, and the time is displayed as a 24-hour clock (e.g. 1:00 p.m. is shown as 13:00).

     

    1. Set the Show on players after field to specify the date & time when the content will be first available to display. Note, leaving this field blank will allow the content to be shown once its been approved
    2. Set the Unapprove on field to specify the date & time when the content will no longer be available for display. Note, leaving this field blank will keep the content available until manually removed.
    3. If desired, set the Auto delete on field to specify the date & time when the content will be automatically deleted. Note, leaving this field blank will cause content to never be auto-deleted.
  6. Click Save after all slideshow settings have been adjusted.

 

Supported Document Formats

Supported file formats include:

  • Images: png, jpg, jpeg, gif, bmp
  • Documents: doc, docm, docx, ppt, pptm, pptx, xls, xlsm, xlsx, odp, ods, odt, pages, keynote, numbers
  • Other: djvu, eml, eps, msg, pdf, pps, ppsx, ps, pub, rtf, xps

Is there any additional information I should know about?

Once a Slide is created, it will need to be approved before it is available for display on the desired sign(s).

Need additional help or have issues

For support, requests may be submitted anytime using the appropriate Digital Signage form. Requests generate a Ticket which will be worked in order received and urgency by IT Employees with the knowledge and permissions to assist with the request.
