Overview
Microsoft Azure Dev Tools for Teaching puts professional developer tools, software, and services in the hands of faculty and students. Students receive developer tools from Microsoft at no cost – everything needed to create apps, games and websites – so they can chase their dreams, create the next big breakthrough in technology, or get a head start on their career.
Important
Azure Dev Tools for Teaching is to be used for STEM-focused instruction. Any course that has a focus on using Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics in their curriculum is eligible to use Azure Dev Tools for Teaching to help professors teach and students learn more effectively.
Software available through this program is not to be used by university employees for anything other than STEM-focused instruction!
Warning
Any software downloaded, as well as any software keys provided by the Microsoft Azure Dev Tools for Teaching website must not be shared with anyone! This includes fellow students, and faculty. Individuals desiring access to this software, must access the Azure Dev Tools for Teaching using their own unique UA identity.

How do I use this technology?
Access Microsoft Education Hub
Students and faculty alike can get access to all the software download benefits through the Education Hub. The Education Hub is built within the Azure Portal and it provides your students easy access to the entire catalog of software, as well as access to the entire Microsoft Learn catalog.
Access Microsoft Education Hub
- Access the Microsoft Education Hub.
- Click Sign In.
- At the Microsoft 365 login screen, do the following:
- Enter your UA Email address, click Next.
- Enter your UA password, and click Sign in.
- When prompted to Stay signed in? click Yes.
- When prompted for Identify Verification by Phone do the following:
- Enter your cell or desk telephone number.
- Click either text me, or call me button.
- You will be contacted by the selected method with a one-time verification code.
- Enter the provided code into the Verification Code field.
- Click Verify Code.
- The first time you access the Azure Dev Tools for Teaching site you will be presented with Terms.
- You must select I agree to the subscription agreement, Azure Dev Tools for Teaching agreement, and privacy statement.
- Optionally, select I would like information, tips, and offers about Azure, including Azure Newsletter, Pricing updates, and other Microsoft products and services.
- Optionally, select I would like Microsoft to share my information and select partners so I can receive relevant information about their products and services.
- Click Accept terms
- On the left side, under Learning Resources, click Software.
- From the software list, locate the desired software to download.
- Once the software title is located, click the software title.
- A new panel will open with information regarding the software selected.
Important
If you select a software title that is unable to run on the operating system you are using to download the software you will see the following notice.
This product may not be compatible with your current operating system.
- Click Generate URL.
- A download URL be generated, click Copy to clipboard button.
- Open a new browser window, or tab, and paste the download URL, press return.
- The software will begin to download.
- If necessary, click View Key.
- Click Copy to clipboard.
- Save the software key to your computer for later use.
- Once the software download has finished, install according to standard practices associated with the software that was downloaded.
