Change Manager or Alternate Manager of a Project

Overview

Every project has a primary person responsible for organizing the overall work and status updates related to the effort. This is commonly referred to as the Project Manager. Within the Enterprise Service Management (ESM) system this is referred to a Manager, additionally the system also supports assigning an Alternate Manager to one, or more, people associated with the project.

Important
Only one person may be assigned the Manager role; however, multiple individuals may be assigned the Alternate Manager role in order to help maintain and update the project.
Warning
Only the current manager of the project can assign, or change, the manager role.

What materials do I need?

  • Internet connectivity
  • Web browser
  • TDWorkManagement access
  • Access to Project module

How do I use this technology?

  1. Login to ESM TDWorkManagement.
  2. Click View Applications.
  3. Click Projects.
  4. Locate the appropriate project.
  5. The project will open in a new application tab.
  6. Expand the project components.
  7. Click Manage.
  8. Click Resources.
  9. Click the Actions button.
  10. From the drop-down menu click Change Manager.
  11. In the Change Manager dialog window do one, or both, of the following.
    Important
    The drop-down menu will only display people that have already been assigned as a resource on the project, and have access to the Project application within ESM.
    • Manager
      1. From the drop-down menu select the appropriate person to be the primary project manager.
    • Alternate Manager(s)
      1. In the Alternate Manager(s) drop-down menu click the check box next to the person(s) that should be assigned as the alternate project manager(s).
  12. Click Save.

Need additional help or have issues

For support, requests may be submitted anytime using the appropriate Enterprise Service Management form. Requests generate a Ticket which will be worked in order received and urgency by IT Employees with the knowledge and permissions to assist with the request.
