Feedback examples

All feedback should be focused on the content of the article, its suitability for the intended audience, technical accuracy, and tone.

Specific

  • Bad example: The form of the statement is syntactically unsound due to unbalanced use of delimiters.
  • Good example: There is an extra parenthesis in the second paragraph, third sentence.

Actionable

  • Bad example: The screenshots are old.
  • Good example: The screenshots included in the article represent an outdated/unsupported version. The images should be replaced with images using the most current version of the product supported by the university.

Appropriate

  • Bad example: The directions you have provided are muddled, and confusing to someone trying to complete the task.
  • Good example: The directions should be presented as a step-by-step guide, using a numbered list, so a customer can complete the task.
