Add a New Device to Duo


New devices can be added to Duo from the Duo Prompt. Including multiple options for authentication is best practice so that you can always access your account.

What materials do I need?

  • Multi-Factor Authentication enabled
  • New Duo compatible device


Enroll a New Device

Add a New Device

  1. Click Add a new device.

  2. Choose an authentication method and complete two-factor authentication.

  3. Select the type of Duo compatible device to add. Click Continue.

Device Types

Mobile Phone and Tablet

  1. Select Mobile Phone or Tablet and click on Continue. Follow the steps outlined in the Initial Enrollment Guide.



  1. Select Landline and click Continue
  2. Enter the number to connect to Duo.
  3. Answer the call from Duo.
  4. Enter the code from the call.


Security Key

  1. Select Security Key and click Continue.
  2. Click on Continue to open the pop up window.

  3. Accept the Operating System Security Prompts until it instructs to insert your Security Key into a USB port

  4. After is has been inserted, accept the Operating System Security Prompts. Once prompted, tap your Security Key. Continue through the prompts until it completes the addition process.


Feitian One Time Password (OTP) Token

Adding a Feitian OTP token to your Duo account is done outside of Duo.


  1. Go to
  2. Click Option 1.
  3. Enter your UA Username and Password and click Submit.
  4. When prompted, authenticate with Duo.
  5. Depending on the last time you used me.UAA, you may be prompted to review your security settings, or preferred email destination.
  6. On the Welcome page, click the Security Settings link.

  7. Under Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) enabled click the Hardware keys button.
  8. Enter the serial number on the back of your Feitian token and click the Add hardware key button.
  9. Sign out of me.UAA.


Touch ID

  1. Select Touch ID and click Continue.
  2. Click Continue to prompt Touch ID authentication.

  3. Enter the Touch ID account password.
