The University of Alaska licenses and supports several software titles for use by university staff, faculty, and students.

Employee Software Support

Employee software includes updates and patches for operating systems, and supported software titles available in the Software Center (Windows OS), and Self Service (macOS). A detailed list of supported software can be found on the Employee Software Support knowledge base article.

Academic Discounts

Students, faculty, and staff are generally eligible for discounts from most software vendors. For use on personally owned devices, inquire with the vendor directly or check their website.

Departments also qualify for academic discounts. Before a departmental purchase is made, please check to see if we have licensing available for the product, if not submit a Software Request. Volume licensing is only available for University departments and organizations.

Need additional help or have issues

For support, requests may be submitted anytime by Requesting Support for the applicable Applications & Software service. Support Requests are worked by Priority based on the Impact and Urgency of need as well as the order they are received by the IT Employees with the knowledge and permissions to assist with the request.
