Set GlobalProtect to use Windows Default Browser

Overview

The following article will provide directions on setting GlobalProtect to use Default Browser.

Note
This procedure is for Windows computers only.

 

Procedure

  1. Download GlobalProtect for Windows following the instructions in the KB.
     
  2. Open a Command Prompt window. Right-click on the start button and Left-click on Run. Type cmd and click OK.

  3. Enter  ~\cd Downloads hit enter.

  4. Enter the following command msiexec.exe /i GlobalProtect64.msi DEFAULTBROWSER=YES and press Enter.

  5. On this Select whether you want to repair or remove GlobalProtect screen, choose RemoveGlobalProtect and click Finish.

  6. When the Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device prompt appears, click Yes.

  7. The Removing GlobalProtect screen should now appear.

  8. After the software has been successfully removed, click Close.

  9. Go back to the Command Prompt window and press the up arrow. This will bring up the previously entered msi command. Press enter.

  10. Click on Next to install GlobalProtect.

  11. At the Select Installation Folder prompt click Next

  12. At the Confirm Installation prompt click Next

  13. When the Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device prompt appears, click Yes.

  14. GlobalProtect will begin installing.

  15. After the software has been successfully installed, click close.

  16. Open GlobalProtect.

  17. Enter uaa.vpn.alaska.edu and click Connect.

  18. Enter your login credentials and click Sign in.

  19. Click the option you use for DUO.

  20. You are now connected to GlobalProtect.
