University Computers

Computer support encompasses a wide array of services including software downloads, plus repair and maintenance to University of Alaska owned computers and peripherals. Our support technician's responsibilities may include deploying and configuring new hardware, installing and updating software packages, or troubleshooting problems. We also provide support to department employees who maintain their department’s computer systems, along with hardware and software purchasing recommendations to any University of Alaska individuals.

Requirements

  • University of Alaska owned computer (e.g. desktop, laptop, tablet, server, etc.) or mobile device

Availability

Repair and troubleshooting services are available weekdays from 8am to 5pm. Software downloads are available 24 hours per day. Exceptions include any scheduled maintenance or unplanned outages.

This service is maintained and supported by UAA IT Services. Requests for support may be submitted anytime via the Request Support button on the right side of this page. Requests generate a Ticket which will be worked in order received and urgency by the IT Employees with the knowledge and permissions to assist with the request.

Consultation for Bulk Order of University Computers
Consultation with UAA IT Services for what computers to purchase as part of the Bulk Order Program to meet your business needs.
University Computer Bulk Order Program
UAA departments, including UAA community campuses, and UA units located in the Anchorage area have the opportunity to purchase select Dell computers, laptops and monitors at highly discounted prices.
New or Repurposed Computer and/or Peripherals
Purchase of new or refurbished computer(s) and peripherals for university business use.
Install Software
Request software installations to university owned computers or computers owned by current students, faculty, or staff.
Investigate Possible Virus/Compromise of Equipment
Request assistance from Desktop Services to investigate possible virus infections or compromises of equipment by malicious software programs.
Move & Setup Computer Equipment
Schedule a move of a few computers and related equipment for individuals or small offices from one campus location to another.
Schedule Computer Maintenance
Schedule computer maintenance to be performed on university computers between certain dates at some point in the near future.
Routine Technician Site Visit (RTSV)
Set up recurring onsite support from IT for university owned desktop, or audio/visual equipment.
Pickup of Computer(s) and/or Peripherals to Surplus
Schedule the pick up and processing of equipment to be sent to UA surplus.
Support for Issues with University Computer(s)
Request assistance with setting up hardware or software, or performing repairs or maintenance on university owned computer(s).
