Overview
There are occasions when an existing report within the Enterprise Service Management (ESM) system has almost has all the information you want, maybe it's missing a field, or you'd like to see the output as a graph instead a list view. In these scenarios it's usually simpler to copy the existing report, and then customize the new copy to reflect the desired output without impacting other individuals that may be using the original report. This article will walk you though the steps necessary to copy an existing report.
What materials do I need?
- Internet access
- Web browser
- TDNext License
- Access to the source report
How do I use this technology?
- Login to ESM.
- Navigate to the desired report's location.
- [ Ticketing App Name ] > Reports
- [ Analysis ] > Reports
Tip
If the report you want to copy is already on a Dashboard you're using, click the View Details button to open the report in a new window, then proceed to step 6.
- On the Reports screen click into the Search field.
- Enter the name of the desired report, and click Search.
- Click on the name of the report to open the report.
- On the report screen, click Actions.
- Click Copy.
- A Copy Report dialog window will open.
- In the New Name field, enter a succinct descriptive name for the report.
- Typically, it's best to leave the Copy Visibility Permissions? checkbox unchecked.
- Click Save.
- The Report Copied Successfully window should appear, click View the new report.
- Proceed to edit the report as desired.
- Click Save as needed.
