Share a Enterprise Service Management Project Plan in Microsoft Teams

Overview

If your project team is using Microsoft Teams to facilitate your project and would like to to make the Enterprise Service Management (ESM) project card wall visible, you can easily add a view to share plan(s) with the team.

Important
This works for card wall plans URLs accessible from the ESM Service Portal(s).

What materials do I need?

  • Internet connectivity
  • Web browser
  • Microsoft Teams

How do I use this technology?

  1. From Enterprise Service Management
    1. Access the ESM Service Portal.
    2. Click Projects.
    3. Click the project name.
    4. Click Plans.
    5. Click the plan name to open the plan in a new browser tab/window.
    6. Copy the URL.
  2. Open Microsoft Teams.
    1. Access the desired Team, and optionally desired channel.
    2. At the top of the window, click the Add a tab button.
      1. Click Apps.
      2. Click Website.
      3. In the Tab name field, enter a descriptive name.
      4. In the URL field, paste the copied URL.
      5. Optionally, decide if the Post to the channel about this tab options should be selected.
      6. Click Save.
    3. The Card Wall plan is now visible from the Microsoft Team.
      Tip

      You may see a notice similar to the following:

      You're viewing content from https://service.alaska.edu/TDClient/<ID>/Portal/Tasks/CardWall?planid... Be sure you trust this site before using it. If the site doesn't load properly, open it in a browser.

      With a Open in browse​​​r ​​button adjacent to it.

For support, requests may be submitted anytime using the appropriate Enterprise Service Management form. Requests generate a Ticket which will be worked in order received and urgency by IT Employees with the knowledge and permissions to assist with the request.
